This one in particular is at 16500, which I think is on the high end. I also found a running project on near by for 6,000. but it was just a boring off white color.

I think 16K is optimistic too, I was thinking it might be a 10-12K car. Of course, show up with 12K in cash, and it very well could be yours. Much better idea to buy one that’s already nice than to restore one, as these are not high dollar cars, you will likely run in the red with a project. Lowrider seller probably isn’t turning a profit.

Just like with old Cadillacs and a few other cars, these are an awful lot of style and presence for the money.

oh I’ m sure you couldn’t build that lowrider for the money. heck the paint, if its done right, could be half the price of the car.

A lot of cars aren’t “worth” restoring. heck my Cabriolet will never be worth what I’m eventually be putting into it. it’ll always be a maybe 4 000 dollar car, even with a TDI swap, custom interior, and a new top.

Driver quality cars are the way to go. One like the main T-Bird you posted appears to be ideal - nice looking, but not so perfect to where it can’t be driven.

I’m in the same boat. I could easily spend 50K+ restoring the fintail to have a 20K car when I am done - and driving it would depreciate it.
